The VLF-MD-1 is a versatile industrial metal detector that can be used in all kinds of situations. The electronics used in the detector are of exceptional quality. Certain functions of the detector are regulated automatically, leaving only the necessary controls on the control panel. The VLF-MD-1 is therefore very easy to use.

Industrial purposes:

The detector can be used for the detection of pipes, valves, cables etc. The detector can be used as a hip-model (without a shaft), which can be useful when searching for lost metal objects in products on a production line. Due to the advanced electronics and a large search disc (diam. 20 cm) even the smallest metal objects like size 5 mm can be precisely located.

As hobby detector:

The VLF-MD-1 works exceptionally well in open fields, woods and on the beach. The watertight search disc means you can even detect objects in the water.




VLF-MD-1 Functions:

Gain Control:

The GAIN control (also on/off switch) regulates the sensitivity of the detector. Any interference from, for example power lines or electricity pylons can be removed using the GAIN control. This is not usually necessary because the detector is fitted with excellent filters.

Ignoring undesired metals:

The DISC control is used to help the detector to ignore any undesired metals such as tin-foil, beer bottle tops, pull tabs from cans etc.

Locate an object precisely:

The PINPOINT switch is used to precisely locate an object (the disc control is automatically switched off). PINPOINT automatically puts the detector in a "very slow motion" and the "all metal" setting. With this all metals are detected including iron. The detector gives off a constant sound (pitch) that gets louder as the object nears the center of the disc. The TUNE switch is used to restore the PINPOINT sound should it be lost. It is a spring return switch that returns automatically to the PINPOINT setting.

Motion discriminator:

The DISC switch activates the DISC control. The constant pitch then disappears. The detector is now in the position "motion". There is no sound at all until a metal object is localized. The detector then signals that something has been found. Most undesired metals will be filtered out by the DISC control. They will not be detected.

Ground elimination:

In some places successful working with the detector can be limited by mineralisation caused by iron sediment, iron oxidation or wet sand. It is then possible that the detector reacts as if there is metal present even though this is not the case. This can be confusing. This is why the VLF-MD-1 is equipped with an automatic ground elimination that is adjusted in the control box.

Battery charger:

The battery charger contains a chip that makes sure the batteries can never be overcharged. The charger and the batteries are delivered as standard with the detector. Charging the batteries is done through the connector on the back of the detector. This means the batteries can remain in the detector during charging. The batteries are standard included and last for about 14 hours.
